Our penguin unit is met with much enthusiasm...we work with 2-D paper and then create penguin sculptures in clay!
First, the students worked with geometric and organic shapes to draw penguins in their sketchbooks. Next, we worked with collage and tore paper to create penguins sledding downhill. Finally, 3-D forms like spheres and cylinders are created with the clay and are formed into some wonderful penguins. Stay tuned for the results!
