Third graders have been busy learning about owls and learning how to draw them. We researched some interesting facts about this incredible bird of prey. Using placement, proportion and visual texture as we drew, students were able to create some awesome drawings of owls. We are also studying the art of Batik painting which is a wax resist process used in many cultures. Students will use wax crayons and paint to emulate the batik process. Students will gather "words of wisdom" which will be incorporated into this artwork.
