The artist Pablo Picasso has been our inspiration for our Cubism Scarecrows. We learned how he painted a face looking at it from both a profile and frontal view. Students are working with cutting, gluing and painting to create a collage of a scarecrow portrait. We also learned point of view as we read the book Scarecrow by Cynthia Rylant. The illustrations were just wonderful to see how a point of view can change from "bird's eye" to "bugs eye."
